Sheriff's Office Assists on Emergency Run for 1-Year-Old Child

Traffic was blocked Monday morning at Hall Road and North Avenue for the ambulance transport of a baby who was not breathing.

Deputies from the Macomb County Sheriff's Office assisted the Armada Fire Department on Monday with a transport of a 1-year-old baby who was not breathing.

Sheriff's road patrol vehicles blocked number of intersections, including the corner of Hall Road and North Avenue in Macomb Township, to transport the baby to a hospital. Deputies also escorted the ambulance to the hospital.

"All our dispatchers and our entire Road Patrol pitched in so that we could get the baby to the hospital and save it's life," Macomb Sheriff's Office Lt. John Michalke wrote in an email. "There is no call in the police business that garners a more passionate response by first responders than a 'child not breathing.'"
