Sheriff's Detectives Search for Suspects in Lenox Twp. Shooting

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office reports that the shooting is believed to have been related to the trade or sale of marijuana.

Macomb County Sheriff's detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday along Forest Road, north of 30 Mile Road in Lenox Township.

The Sheriff's Office reports that the shooting is believed to have been in connection with the trade or sale of marijuana.

The shooting victim and his passenger, both 22-year-old Richmond residents, met three unidentified males at approximately 9:33 p.m. on Forest Road, according to police.

Upon arrival, the suspects fired several shots into the victim’s vehicle. One of the shots hit the victim in the arm and then entered his chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition, police said Monday. The passenger escaped injury, according to police.

The Sheriff's Office is still searching for the shooting suspects, who have been described as three black males in a white midsize SUV, possibly a Land Rover or Explorer type vehicle. A more specific description of the suspects or vehicle was not available by Monday morning.
