Dollar Watch: Tracking Macomb Township's Spending This Week

This week's expenditures include uniforms for the fire department and a new truck for the Broadcast Media Department.

At the July 27 Macomb Township Board of Trustees meeting, the board approved the following expenditures:

  • $23,213 – To purchase a Dodge Grand Caravan V6 for use by the Broadcast Media Department. The department’s current vehicle, a GMC Savana, only seats two and has limited cargo space. The Dodge Caravan will seat four comfortably and has ample cargo space. With three people in the department, a four-seat vehicle is preferred. The Dodge Caravan will be purchased through the Macomb County 2011 Vehicle Award program.
  • $8,907 – Class A uniforms for the Fire Department’s paid on-call personnel. The uniforms are required to be provided to those paid on-call personnel that have five or more years of service, per their collective bargaining agreement. Four quotes were submitted and the contract awarded to Enterprise Uniform Company.
  • $800 – To allow fire Sgt. Adam Munro to attend Medstar Ambulance's upcoming EMS Instructor Coordinator Program. Munro is the department’s training officer and is responsible for coordinating all training sessions.
