Town Hall with Elected Officials - Repairing/Funding Michigan's Roads

The public is invited to a town hall meeting at the Macomb Intermediate School District Monday, Feb. 13, to speak with elected officials about the state of Michigan's roads.

Topics for the meeting include the state of Michigan's crumbling roads and the governor's proposal on how to generate money for road maintenance and new road projects in Macomb County.

The public forum is sponsored by state Reps. Anthony Forlini (R-Harrison Township) and Marilyn Lane (D-Fraser).

Forlini and Lane will act as moderators during the forum, while audience members direct questions and concerns to a panel consisting of Rep. Ken Goike (R-Macomb Twp.), vice-chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation; Rep. Lesia Liss (D-Warren), who serves on the House Transportation Committee; Robert Hoepfner, director of roads, Macomb County Department of Roads; Drew Buckner, manager of the Macomb Transportation Center for the Michigan Department of Transportation; and Roy C. Rose, civil engineer, vice chair of Business for Better Transportation.

The forum will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the Macomb Intermediate School District in Central Training Room 100B, 44001 Garfield Road in Clinton Township.
