"I am very pleased about the caliber of the individuals whom we have selected to fill these key County positions,” Hackel said. “Peter, Eric, Robert and Rhonda all bring impressive skill sets and career experiences to their new jobs. In addition, they are passionate public servants who are dedicated and committed to advancing Macomb County.”

Since 2000, Provenzano has worked as assistant city manager and controller of the city of Roseville. He has also served as chief financial officer for Parish Publications and as in-charge auditor for Plante Moran.

In his role as director of Finance, he will manage the county's fiscal policies, procedures and regulations. In addition, he will provide direction for accounting, budgetary, financial procedures and requested appropriations.

Herppich, who serves as an adjunct instructor at Oakland University, most recently served as director of the Labor Relations Division for Macomb County. As director of Human Resources, he will resume the position he previously held in 2007 and 2008. Herppich is responsible for the overall management and administration of human resources and labor relations activities and operations for the county.

A 36-year veteran in the design of road and bridge projects, Hoepfner has held numerous positions in the former Macomb County Road Commission–now the Department of Roads under Hackel.

As director of Roads, Hoepfner will resume responsibility for the overall management and administration of his department's activities and operations, including directing the strategic planning and operation of the county’s design and construction programs and managing the maintenance, sign, signal and traffic operation activities.

“We are bringing in strong leaders who have the capability and competency to get the job done,” Hackel said. “We are assembling a solid team of professionals who will help us transform county government.”

Each department director reports directly to Hackel.
