Last Day to Pay Summer Taxes in Macomb Twp. Without Penalty

Today is the last day for Macomb Township residents to pay their 2012 summer taxes without penalty. The Treasurer's office closes at 4:30 p.m.

After Sept. 14, the following penalties are assessed:

• 1 percent penalty for non-payment Sept. 15-Sept. 30
• Additional 1 percent penalty for non-payment each month Oct. 1 through Feb. 28, 2013.
• Failure to receive your tax bill does not waive interest or penalty.

Check the 2012 summer millage rates here. Macomb Township now collects the millages for Chippewa Valley, L'Anse Creuse, New Haven and Utica school districts.

How to Pay

To pay your taxes in person, bring your entire tax bill to the Treasurer's Office, 54111 Broughton Road, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

A secure drop box, where payments can be deposited 24 hours a day, is located at the top of the ramp by the rear entrance of the Town Hall. Taxes can be made with cash, check or money order.

Taxes can also be paid online with a debit or credit card. Convenience fees are applied to all payments except fund transfers from a bank account.

The Treasurer's Office cannot process such payments, but the kiosk provides a direct connection to the township's online bill pay service. The kiosk is located in the town hall lobby.
