Macomb County Republicans Pick Perry for President in 2012

In a straw poll conducted by the Republican Committee of Northern Macomb County on Aug. 30, Gov. Rick Perry garnered almost half the vote.

It's Texas Gov. Rick Perry for the win in Macomb County's first straw poll for 2012.

Conducted at the , the poll saw Perry win by a landslide, with 41.9 percent of the vote.

More than 500 Republican supporters, party personnel and elected officials attended the dinner and more than half participated in the poll.

Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney followed Perry with 26.4 percent of the vote, Texas U.S. Rep. Ron Paul with 9.4 percent and Minnesota U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann with 9.1 percent.
