Meeting Minutes: Live-Blog of Wednesday's Board of Trustees Meeting

7 p.m. - Supervisor Mark Grabow calls the meeting to order and all present stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. Trustee Janet Dunn and the township attorney are the only members the board absent. The review of tax reverted properties from the Macomb County Treasurer's Office has been tabled.

7:03 p.m. – The floor is open for public comment, but there is no public at the meeting to comment.

7:18 p.m. – The board has approved the 2011-12 water and sewer rates for the township. The new rates are as follows:

Water: $2.51 per unit (per unit is 100 cubic feet)

Sewer: $2.32 per unit (per unit is 100 cubic feet)

This will mean an average customer monthly cost increase of $9.86 for water and $3.32 for sewer.

This rate change became effective July 1.

7:23 p.m. – The township's lateral fees for water and sewer have been raised to $45/ft for water and $65/ft for sewer. These fees will be effecting Nov. 1.

7:25 p.m. – Bids for the Buckingham Village retention basin rehabilitation will be received on July 11, so the current agenda item has been tabled until the meeting on July 13.
