Meeting Minutes: Live-Blog of Wednesday's Board of Trustees Meeting

While Detroit watches the Red Wings in their first playoff game, Patch holds the fort at the Macomb Township Board of Trustees meeting.

We're trying something new at Macomb Patch. Rather than live-Tweeting the Board of Trustees meetings, we're going to live-blog them. We'll report the trustees decisions as they're made in real time.

Let us know how you like this new format in the comments below.

7:03 p.m. - Trustees unanimously approved the Consent Agenda, which contained items such as maintenance of the Veteran's Memorial Park, training conference attendance for Parks and Recreation employees, and the easement encroachment of 48751 Chelsea Ct.

7:17 p.m. - The request for a Land Division Variance for Bridgewater Estates Site Condominiums was tabled as the petitioner (Bridgewater) did not include a plan labeling which streets in the subdivision would be barricaded. These barricades would be used to protect the sub's streets and lots from unauthorized dumping.

"We understand the intent of what he wants to do ... but there's no plan. No concept drawings. There's nothing," said Supervisor Mark Grabow.

Supervisor's Comments: Consumers Energy asks that all inside meters be moved outside by the end of 2011, so they can be read.

Clerk's Comments: Macomb Township is now the 15th largest municipality in the state.

The clerk's office is responsible for issuing permits for door-to-door sales. As of today, there is only one person licensed to go door-to-door–an insurance salesperson. If someone is knocking on your door, call the Sheriff's Office.

Residents living behind the Kroger at 21 Mile and Card roads may soon be able to purchase the strip of land between their lots and the Kroger lot. This land is privately owned.

Residents along 24 Mile Road, east of North Avenue, would like to see that road paved. The first step in this process is for the residents to begin the informal petition process.
