Miller Asks District 10 to Vote for Their 'Fan Favorite' High School Art

People can vote for their "fan favorite" student art, entered in the 2012 Congressional Art Competition, on U.S. Rep Candice Miller's Facebook page through May 16.

Even those who aren't old enough to vote in the November election can cast their vote for this year's "Fan Favorite" award among all of the student artwork submitted to the 2012 Congressional Art Competition.

Created in 1982, the competition honors high school students from each of the nation’s congressional districts. The contest is open to all high school students, and this year features 72 pieces from Michigan’s 10th Congressional District, which includes Macomb Township.

District 10 U.S. Rep. Candice Miller is hosting the competition on her Facebook page through May 16. All of this year's submissions can be found in a photo album and individuals are encouraged to vote for their favorite by clicking "like" on their "fan favorite" photo.

The fan favorite winner will be announced following the close of voting on May 16. First, second and third place winners will be selected separately by a panel of professional artists in Michigan.

“I am so honored to be able to highlight all of the wonderful artwork submitted by our talented students living in Michigan’s 10th Congressional District,” said Miller, in a prepared statement. “All of the students who submitted their art pieces this year should be immensely proud of their work and I encourage everyone to recognize all of their efforts and view their work online on my Facebook page. We applaud and encourage the talent of these young artists and wish them all sincere good luck in this and future artistic endeavors.”
