On the Agenda: What Township Trustees Will Consider at Tonight's Meeting

Up for discussion are the termination of a probationary firefighter and settlement of the township's legal dispute with the owners of Tina's Tavern.

The termination of a probationary firefighter and settlement of the legal dispute between the owners of Tina's Tavern and Macomb Township are among the issues the board of trustees will be considering during the 7 p.m. meeting tonight at , 54111 Broughton Road.

The following is a short overview of some of the items on the agenda:

  • . Fire Chief Robert Phillips recommended the termination of on-call probationary firefighter Jared Boyd at the trustees' Dec. 8 meeting. Due to the large number of friends and co-workers who spoke on behalf of Boyd at that same meeting, trustees decided to table the issue until today's meeting.
  • Stemming from a lawsuit filed in 2008, the legal dispute between Macomb Township and TTCH Development, the owners of Tina's Country House, is entering its third year. Trustees called a special meeting on Dec. 13 to discuss the proposed settlement, but once again tabled the issue. The board is expected to reach a final decision at today's meeting.
  • Cost-Sharing Agreement—Hayes Road from 21 1⁄2 Mile Road to 23 Mile Road. This issue was tabled indefinitely at the trustees' Nov. 23 meeting.
