On the Agenda: What Township Trustees Will Consider at Tonight's Meeting

Topics up for discussion include the collection of summer taxes for the L'Anse Creuse School District, the purchase of athletic field maintenance equipment, and tax tribunal and appeal matters.

The Macomb Township Board of Trustees will discuss the summer taxes for the L'Anse Creuse School District, park maintenance equipment and the settlement of tax matters at its 7 p.m. Monday meeting.

The following is a short overview of some of the items on the agenda:

  • Request to Authorize and Sign the L’Anse Creuse Summer Tax Collection Agreement: This agreement will allow the township to collect summer taxes for the L'Anse Creuse School District. 
  • Class C Liquor License Application: The Ram’s Horn Restaurant, located in Stratford Plaza at the corner of 23 Mile Road and Card Road has submitted its final liquor license application for review by the board.
  • Parks and Recreation Purchases: With the opening of the new Macomb Corners Park, the department now has the added maintenance of several athletic fields. The department is requesting the funds to purchase a tractor, AERA-Vator and field striping machine to help perform this maintenance. It will also request board approval to award the department's custodial contract to a new company.
  • Executive Session: The board will consider the proposed settlement of a tax tribunal matter between the township and two private entities–Wolverine 25 and Simone Mauro. The board will also consider the proposed settlement of a tax appeal matter between Twin Rivers and the township.
