Poll: Do You Vote?

Voting is a right, right?

Voter turnout isn't 100 percent, unfortunately. So, some of you aren't voting.

In 2008, when record numbers of voters turned out for the Obama vote, 76.5 percent of registered voters cast a ballot in Macomb Township. But in our November election, the gubernatorial one that made One Tough Nerd (as in Rick Snyder) governor of Michigan, there was a much smaller 47.1 percent voter turnout. And in February 2010, when Chippewa Valley Schools was given the OK to borrow almost $90 million to issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds, turnout was just 6 percent.
