Romney 'Could Not Have Made a Better Choice' Than Ryan for VP, Rep. Miller Says

U.S. Congressional Rep. Candice Miller (MI-10) weighs in on presumed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's selection of U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin as his running mate.

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney officially announced as his vice presidential pick Saturday morning at the beginning of Romney's four-day, four-state bus tour in Norfolk, VA.

U.S. Rep. Candice S. Miller (MI-10) released the following statement in support of the choice:

“I have had the honor to serve with Representative Paul Ryan for 10 years in the House of Representatives and I believe Governor Mitt Romney could not have made a better choice to serve as our next Vice President because nobody is better prepared to help him tackle the immense challenges facing our nation.
“First and foremost, a Vice President must be able to become President of our great nation in a moments notice; Paul Ryan has the maturity, compassion, and knowledge necessary. There is simply no other person currently serving in the federal government who has a better understanding of the dire fiscal challenges facing our nation than Paul Ryan and he has provided great leadership in offering substantive solutions to meet those challenges. Paul Ryan has continually faced the partisan political attacks that are certain to come from the defenders of the status quo and I know that he is more than ready to beat back those attacks with common sense solutions.

“With this choice the American people know they have a serious and substantial campaign ticket to choose from based on the important fiscal issues facing our nation. I will be honored to campaign shoulder to shoulder with Governor Romney and Paul Ryan as they make the case for real reform to the American people. More than anything I look forward to working with a President Romney and a Vice President Ryan to get this economy moving again and putting our nation back on a path to prosperity."
