Macomb Township Pays $5,000 to Support, Protect Clinton River, Lake St. Clair
Macomb Township is one of 55 local units of government represented in the Clinton River Watershed Council.
For $5,000, Macomb Township has secured its membership in the for yet another year.
Trustees voted unanimously Wednesday to pay the township's membership dues.
The township is currently one of 55 units of government in the council, which is an "all-time high," according to a recent letter from CRWC Executive Director Anne Vaara to township clerk Michael Koehs.

For 40 years, the council has worked with governments, businesses, community groups and residents across Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties to "protect, enhance and celebrate the Clinton River, its watershed and Lake St. Clair."
Membership dues help fund the council's programs and services to protect the water quality and natural resources in the area.

As a portion of the Clinton River and its tributaries run through Macomb Township, the township has maintained regular membership in the CRWC.
