CV School Board to Issue Layoff Notices to Teachers

The board must approve the issuance of layoff notices to district teachers at tonight's meeting to comply with deadlines set by the teacher collective bargaining agreement.

A first-time member to the board, Kinsey will have little time to adjust to the decision-making process as the board's first order of new business is to approve the issuance of layoff notices to district teachers.

If passed, this item will authorize interim Superintendent Ron Roberts to issue layoff notices to "affected employees in the teacher's unit pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement."

The teacher collective bargaining agreement requires a 45 calendar day layoff notice to all employees who could be laid off. The notices must be received no later than May 16.
