Dollar Watch: Tracking Chippewa Valley's Spending This Week

The Chippewa Valley school board approved several hundred thousand dollars in purchases at its meeting this week.

The Chippewa Valley Schools board of education approved more than $600,000 in contracts and purchases at its Dec. 19 meeting.

All members of the board, excluding Trustee George Sobah who was absent, approved the following items:

  • Contract to ARJAC Inc. for $492,205: To replace doors in several buildings and install card readers in Chippewa Valley's elementary and middle schools. Funding will come from the 2010 building and site fund. This will complete phase two of installing electronic card readers on all elementary and middle school outer doors.
  • Award bid to Laserlink International, Inc. for $75,049.52: The district's annual purchase of ink and toner cartridges. Funding will come from the general fund. Trustees noted this purchase is $14,000-15,000 less than last year's.
  • Award bid to AAF-McQuay Inc. for $24,540: To cover replacement work needed on the chiller compressor at Chippewa Valley High School. Funding will come from the 2010 building and site fund
  • One-year contract to Riddell All American for $36,000: To recondition middle school and varsity helmet and shoulder pads. Funding will come from the athletic fund budget. This reconditioning will determine what equipment can still be safely used and what needs to be purchased new.
