Thomas Noer, Ph.D., professor, Carthage College, and author of the first complete biography of G. Mennen Williams, chronicles the life of the flamboyant politician, who in a stunning upset in 1948 became Michigan's second Democratic governor since the Civil War, winning re-election five times. This presentation is part of a series of programs, The 1950s: Affluence and Anxiety in the Atomic Age, at the Lorenzo Cultural Center, Hall and Garfield roads, Macomb Community College’s Center Campus, Clinton Township .
