Local Defense Industry Growth Opportunities Explored at Monthly MSED Meeting on April 12

A panel of defense industry professionals will discuss the growth and development of the defense sector in Michigan at the Marketing and Sales Executives of Detroit (MSED) monthly meeting on Thurs., April 12.

The discussion will include an overview of the defense industry in Michigan, sector trends and challenges, and future areas of opportunity. President of defense industry consulting firm taktik(z) Thomas Smith will moderate the panel, which includes:

  • Larry Hollingsworth, vice president, strategic operations, DRS;
  • Sam Homsy, director, Army programs, Navistar Defense;
  • Ron Moffett, director, Michigan defense office, Michigan Economic Development Corp.; and
  • Trevor Pawl, program director, economic development, Detroit Regional Chamber.

The meeting will be held at Velocity – the business incubator established by Macomb County, Oakland University and Sterling Heights – located at 6633 18 Mile Road in Sterling Heights. The evening will begin with registration, hors d’oeurves and networking at 5 p.m., the panel discussion at 6 p.m., and desserts and networking at 7 p.m.
