Macomb Area Students Fill Channel 7's 'Brightest and Best' List
WXYZ-TV's 33-year tradition of honoring Metro Detroit's top high school students continues with several from Macomb schools.
Channel 7, WXYZ recently honored the 256 recipients of this year's "Brightest and Best" award with a special luncheon at the station in Southfield. Among the winners for 2012, the 33rd year of program, several hailed from Macomb-area schools.
The station teamed up with this year to present the Brightest and Best Essay Contest. One lucky student that submits a 500-word essay on how to move Michigan forward by retaining college graduates to work and live in Michigan will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
