Macomb Artists Recognized in Anton Art Center’s Annual Student Show

Some 470 pieces of art, representing dozens of area schools, will be on display in the Anton Art Center's galleries through April 22.

Student artists from dozens of area schools, including , , and New Haven, competed for top honors Sunday at the Anton Art Center’s annual Macomb County Secondary Student Show.

Almost 1,400 pieces of art were submitted for the show, with 470 pieces ultimately judged by art instructor Holly Pennington of St. Clair County Community College and by Detroit artist Jack O. Summers.

The works, created by students in grades seven through 12, will remain on display in the Anton Art Center’s galleries through April 22. Admission to the Anton Art Center is free and open to the public, however, the gallery will be closed April 6-9.
