New Haven Superintendent Named 'Communicator of the Year'

Be it through the district's , or his weekly parent newsletter, the superintendent of New Haven Community Schools uses a variety of methods to keep the community informed of his district's activities. These efforts have now earned Keith Wunderlich the title of Superintendent Communicator of the Year by Michigan School Public Relations Association.

MSPRA awarded the honor to Wunderlich at its spring conference on May 3 in Grand Rapids. This award is presented by MSPRA each year to a single superintendent of schools in Michigan for "outstanding leadership in school public relations and communications."

“Keith has done an excellent job promoting information about the district and its
accomplishments to area residents and staff,” said Tom Vance, president of MSPRA, in a prepared statement. “He writes press releases, newsletters and handles all of the media opportunities. He is also willing to speak anywhere with anyone given the opportunity–including alumni dinners, community events, football games, and area churches. We are thrilled to honor him with this award.”

Superintendent of New Haven since July 2010, Wunderlich also served as assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for L'Anse Creuse Public Schools as part of a shared services agreement.

“It is a tremendous honor to be selected for this award,” Wunderlich said, in a prepared statement. “It’s the teachers and staff of New Haven, however, who deserve the credit. They are doing great work and I get to communicate about it! I take every opportunity I can to get positive communication out about our school district. Many thanks to MSPRA for the recognition, and many thanks to the New Haven community for making this such a great place to work.

Wunderlich was selected for Superintendent Communicator of the Year by Vance and the MSPRA Executive Board.
