PHOTOS/VIDEO: Patriot Walk Pays Local Tribute to 9/11 Anniversary

Waving miniature American flags and listening to the words of local officials and American heroes, students and staff at St. Peter Lutheran and Lutheran High School North commemorated the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11 on Friday.

Hundreds of students and staff from and joined local officials Friday to pay tribute to the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11.

Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel, Lutheran North teacher John Dumar and Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Gen. James Livingston spoke at the morning ceremony before the Macomb County Sheriff's Mounted Division led students and staff on a one-mile "Patriot Walk" through surrounding neighborhoods.

This third annual Patriot Walk was dedicated to Sgt. Davin Dumar, a Lutheran North alumnus who was seriously wounded while serving a tour in Afghanistan in July 2011.
