Snails and Guppies and Duckweed, Oh My!

Cheyenne Elementary School fourth-graders are receiving firsthand lessons on aquatic ecosystems.

Approximately 180 fourth-grade students at l learned firsthand about aquatic ecosystems on Tuesday afternoon.

Faygo donated 200 empty, 2-liter bottles to house the ecosystems, which included two guppies, duckweed, elodea and a snail. Fourth-grade teacher Susan Brasch also said Kee’s Aquarium and Pets in Shelby Township as well as principal Dr. Donald Brosky made contributions to the project.

With the hands-on experience, Brasch said the students would learn about the food chain and adaptations.
