will have a Macomb County sheriff's deputy patrolling its grounds again this year, following the Macomb Township board of trustees' decision to approve $57,089.11 to cover this assignment.
Macomb Township contracts with the sheriff's office to serve its law enforcement needs, which includes the assignment of a school liaison officer to Chippewa Valley Schools, primarily Dakota.
This officer, who serves as a deputy for the township when school is not in session, handles the issues on Dakota's campus and serves as a first responder, police officer, resource contact for parents and administration, and front line security for all in attendance, according to the MCSO website. The officer is also available in the evenings and is active in school issues and events.
This 2012-13 pay rate is the same as it was for 2011-12.
