Whiz Kid: Macomb's Krakosky Wins Best in Show, Again

Kimberly Krakosky took first prize in the Macomb County Art Show with her oil painting, "Clowns."

Whiz Kid's Accomplishments: Macomb's own Kimberly Krakosky recently won the 2011 Best in Show award, a $500 cash prize, in the Macomb County Art Show.  The show was hosted by the Anton Art Center in Mount Clemens. Her winning piece is an oil painting titled Clowns.

This is the second year in a row that Krakosky has won the Best in Show award for this competition. Last year's winner was for her painting titled James.

Krakosky, a senior at Henry Ford II High School, was also awarded Best Art Portfolio in the 2011 regional Scholastic Competition. She competed against the most talented art students from Macomb, St. Clair and Lapeer counties for the Scholastic Art Competition.

Whiz Kid's Key to Success: “Kim is a motivated and a multi-talented young woman that puts a great deal of time and consideration in to everything she does," said Henry Ford II High School art teacher Kristine Cooper. "Her key to success is hard work and patience.”
