CVHS Bowler is Runner-up in Girls' State Singles Championship

With a final two-game total of 354, 's Kristen Young became first runner-up in the 2012 state singles bowling finals this past weekend.

Defeating Sydney Ohl, of Saline, in the quarterfinals and Brooke Wood, of Davison, in the semifinals, Young went on to face Allison Morris, of Ann Arbor Huron, in the girls Division 1 finals on March 3.

Young led Morris by some 50 pins heading into the second game of the pair's two-game singles match, but a late-game comeback by Morris ended the game in Ann Arbor's favor, 395-354.

Young also finished second this year in the L'Anse Creuse North Singles Invitational and the Macomb County Singles. She is coached by Sandra and Charles Schultz of Macomb Township.

The state finals were held March 3 at the M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek, MI.
