High school athletes have already begun practicing for the fall season, so we've got your look ahead to the 2012 tournament dates.

Are you a big fan of high school sports? Then, make sure you keep these fall tournament dates in mind from the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA).

Boys Cross Country

  • Regional Tournament: Oct. 26 or Oct. 27
  • MHSAA Finals: Nov. 3 (Michigan International Speedway, Brooklyn)

Girls Cross Country

  • Regional Tournament: Oct. 26 or Oct. 27
  • MHSAA Finals: Nov. 3 (Michigan International Speedway, Brooklyn)

Football

  • Selection Sunday: Oct. 21
  • District Tournament: Oct. 26 or Oct. 27; Nov. 2 or Nov. 3
  • Regional Tournament: Nov. 9 or Nov. 10
  • MHSAA Semifinals: Nov. 17
  • MHSAA Finals: Nov. 23-24 (Ford Field, Detroit)

Girls Golf

  • Regional Tournament: Oct. 10-13
  • MHSAA Finals: Oct. 19-20 (Forest Akers East, MSU; The Meadows, GVSU; Bedford Valley, Battle Creek; Forest Akers West, MSU)

Boys Soccer

  • District Tournament: Oct. 15-20
  • Regional Tournament: Oct. 23-27
  • MHSAA Semifinals: Oct. 31
  • MHSA Finals: Nov. 3 (East Kentwood High School, Kalamazoo; Troy Athens High School, Troy)

Girls Swimming and Diving

  • Regional Diving Tournament: Nov. 13
  • MHSAA Finals: Nov. 16-17 (Holland; Oakland University; Eastern Michigan University)

Boys Tennis

  • Regional Tournament: Oct. 11-13
  • MHSAA Finals: Oct. 19-20 (Midland Community Tennis Center; Grand Blanc; Holland Christian; Kalamazoo College)

Girls Volleyball

  • District Tournament: Oct. 29-Nov. 3
  • Regional Tournament: Nov. 6 and Nov. 8
  • MHSAA Quarterfinals: Nov. 13
  • MHSAA Semifinals: Nov. 15-16
  • MHSAA Finals: Nov. 17 (Kellogg Arena, Battle Creek)

Boys Water Polo

Dates for the 2012 boys water polo season have not yet been released. Michigan boys and girls water polo is regulated not by the MHSAA but the Michigan Water Polo Association.
