“It’s a huge game, for sure. Our team has goals every year and that always includes beating L’Anse Creuse,” said L’Anse Creuse North varsity coach Anthony Kiner, who happens to teach at L’Anse Creuse. “The kids support me and the team with every game, except for this one. It’s great fun.”

Lancers coach Don Roda said that while their season doesn’t rest on beating North, there are bragging rights on the line.

“We would like to retain the Jug and show our school pride doing so,” he said. “I think it is great both teams are doing well and it only make for a more exciting game for everyone. Every year, no matter what the record is, it is an exciting game that can go either way.”
