Solid Week for Local Prep Teams

Big games, however, on the horizon for Dakota and L'Anse Creuse North.

Welcome to another installment of Patch’s Pick of the Week.

With the weather still the biggest wildcard in the deck, local squads braved crisp temperatures and strong winds to compete this week.

Knowing that, let’s take a brief look at some of the week that was for the three local high schools.

The Crusaders fell to Stevenson High, 5-1, while Dakota edged L’Anse Creuse, 2-1.

In softball, the Lady Cougars split a pair of games, ousting L’Anse Creuse North, 5-4, before falling to Lakeview, 7-4. 

The Lady Crusaders were also blanked by Anchor Bay Wednesday afternoon, 7-0.

LCN’s girls' soccer team earned a big Macomb Area Conference White Division win Friday with a 2-0 shutout of Lakeview High on the road. The win pushed the Lady Crusaders’ mark to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the White.

You can catch the Lady Crusaders soccer squad in action this week against Anchor Bay at home beginning at 7 p.m.

This long-standing rivalry promises to be a good matchup and an intense game. Check it out. You won’t be sorry you did.

If baseball is more your speed, Dakota hosts state-ranked St. Clair High Thursday. The first pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
