STATE CHAMP: Dakota's Pugh Wins 500 Freestyle at Finals

Sophomore Marah Pugh also finished second in the 200 free, and L'Anse Creuse North's Taylor Zablocki placed fourth in diving.

sophomore won the Division 1 state championship in the 500-yard freestyle on Saturday at Eastern Michigan University.

Pugh took first in the 500 free with a time of four minutes and 55.54 seconds at the state swimming and diving finals.

Pugh also finished second in the 200 free with a time of 1:50.11 to earn all-state honors in both events.
