Video Highlights: Lakeview Softball Out-Runs Dakota 7-4

Defending MAC-Blue champs blow the game open with a five-run third inning and held on to defeat the MAC-Red Cougars.

The Lakeview Huskies beat the Dakota Cougars on Friday 7-4 at Dakota.

With the score tied 1-1 in the second inning, the Huskies took the lead for good on a solo home run by Ali Lince.

Lakeview broke the game open with a five-run third inning. Dakota closed the gap in the fourth inning to 6-4, after a two-run single by Alyssa Kuzatko, but could get no closer.

Lince ( 7 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 4 K) went the distance for the Huskies in the circle. She also finished 3 for 4 at the plate with a pair of runs scored. Lauren Berra and Becky Corbett added two hits a piece for the Huskies who improved to 3-1 overall. Leanne Weidner drove in two runs for the victors.

Gina Olle, Nicole Kreager (RBI) and Erica Manduzzi led Dakota with two hits apiece as the Cougars (2-1) suffered their first loss of the season.
