The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 6 p.m. Tuesday for northern Macomb County, including Shelby Township, Utica, Macomb Township, Chesterfield Township and New Baltimore.
The storm is expected to hit Shelby Township at about 5:10 p.m. and Macomb Township at about 5:20 p.m.
The National Weather Service warns that the storm could produce hail and cloud-to-ground lightning. People outside should seek shelter, the weather service said.
