Auto Show Charity Preview 2011: Putting on the Glitz

Macomb residents among 10,500 guests sipping champagne, ogling cars and raising $2.6 million for children's charities.

Friday was the big night before the big show in the Big D: Charity Preview at the North American International Auto Show, and Macomb Township residents were there in style.

Although even the best dressed couldn't really compete with the stars of the show– those on four wheels–it was a fun night to dress up, grab a glass of bubbly and mingle for a cause. Nearly all of the $250 ticket price goes to charity.

The black-tie event, one of the top single-night fundraising events in the nation, according to the auto show, drew 10,500 people and helped raise $2.6 million for local children's charities.
