$11 Million Communications Center, Regional Transit on Macomb Co. Agenda for 2013, Hackel Says

Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel delivered his 2012 State of the County address Wednesday at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township.

County Executive Mark Hackel says marketing Macomb as a key place for business, family and recreation will remain a priority in 2013, but continued consolidation of county resources and a focus on regional cooperation will also take center stage. “I don’t think anyone in this room would doubt my passion for marketing Macomb County,” Hackel said during his 2012 State of the County address Wednesday at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township. “Macomb County is actively engaged in trying to grow this region and I am proud to be your representative to do that.” Praising the new county charter and its creation of a “government that is more efficient, economical and ethical,” Hackel noted specifically the $500,000 savings …

Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel is scheduled to give his 2012 State of the County address at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township.

Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel will give his 2012 State of the County address tonight at Macomb Community College, but for the first-time ever, residents won't have to be there to watch it. As the event is invite-only, Macomb Community College will host a live streamof the speech beginning at 6 p.m. from the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. The speech will air in real time on Macomb County’s homepage www.macombgov.org. The speech will later be broadcast in its entirety on WDET-FM (101.9) at 7 p.m. WDET is a public service of Wayne State University.
