Street-paving projects are slated for this summer and next year in Macomb Township.
Macomb Township residents accustomed to navigating dirt roads will save money on car washes in the near future. Clerk Michael Koehs said Wednesday the township is scheduled to spend $3.8 million this summer to pave gravel stretches of two main roads to asphalt. The Macomb County Road Department will do the work expected to be complete by end of summer. In 2014, the township plans to pave the following roads: The community, which has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, is keeping up with changing times and accommodating residents, Koehs said. Would it be summer in Michigan without the orange barrels? Today it's sections of 24 Mile Road. In a few months, it will be the 23 Mile bridge over the Clinton River and perhaps segments of Fairchild Road.
