Sister Swimmers Shine for Dakota
Pugh duo makes big splash for Cougars
Hannah Pugh Where does one begin to list the swimming and academic honors for Dakota High School senior Hannah Pugh? Starting at the Division 1 state meet, Pugh placed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.2 and sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:06.57. This marks the third year in a row that she is an all-state swimmer, and she is a six-time all-state athlete — not an easy or common feat in any high school sport. Both of those times were personal bests for Hannah for a good day in the Oakland University pool. Closer to home, the senior captain was also named the Macomb Area Conference White Division Swimmer of the Meet, and made the All-County First Team and All-County Dream Team.
