34,000 Christmas Lights Illuminate Macomb Township Family's Home

The Marasco home, located on 22 Mile near Romeo Plank, is lit up through early January for curious passer-bys.

There are 34,000 Christmas lights illuminating Dominic Marasco's home on 22 Mile Road. Lights adorn the roof of the house, his garage, shrubs and trees, his porch, and pretty much anything else that stands still.  The words "God Said Let There Be Lights" and "Happy Birthday Jesus" blink off and on on his roof, while on the garage, a 6-foot peace sign and globe help spell out "Peace On Earth." He has so many outdoor lights that he had an electrician install extra outlets to accomodate the surge of power needed to illuminate his home. And his display keeps growing.  "Every year, it gets bigger and bigger," he said.
