A semi truck driver who crashed into a Macomb Township condominium complex Tuesday told deputies he blacked out before the accident, police said Wednesday. Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the Farmington Hills man was taken to the hospital to be treated after he told police at the scene of the medical episode. He was not believed to have suffered injuries in the crash. Two people inside the condo at the time were unharmed. The condos affected by the crash were evacuated because the structure was unstable, ClickonDetroit reported from the scene. The accident took place on Warwick Drive off Garfield between Hall Road and 21 Mile.

Chesterfield Township police are investigating a three-car accident involving a sheriff's patrol car late Wednesday at the St. Clair County-Macomb County border, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office. Police continue to investigate a crash on 21 Mile Road Monday that killed a 51-year-old Shelby Township woman and injured a 73-year-old Macomb Township woman.
A 51-year-old Shelby Township woman died and a 73-year-old Macomb Township woman was seriously injured in a crash Monday just after 5 p.m. on 21 Mile Road, near the M-53 overpass. Earlier today, police had said in a press release that the crash on 21 Mile Road sent two people to the hospital in serious condition. However, a revised release reports that the Shelby Township woman died as a result of her injuries. Preliminary investigations reveal the Shelby Township woman driving a Chrysler Sebring was headed eastbound when she crossed over the center line to the left and hit a trailer, which was pulled by a vehicle heading westbound. The Shelby Township police said they are continuing their investigation into what caused a serious car accident on Hall Road and Hayes.
A Macomb Township teenage girl was seriously injured Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Hall Road and Hayes. The accident occurred in front of the Meijer parking lot at approximately 5:30 p.m. The teen was the passenger in one of the vehicles involved. She was transported to Henry Ford Hospital where she remains in serious condition. Firefighters told Patch two others were treated at the scene. The incident remains under investigation. The Ray Township clerk, Kenneth Artman, 58, was struck by an International farm combine Sunday when the front of the combine was hit by another vehicle.
A 58-year-old Ray Township man died from injuries sustained in an accident Sunday at approximately 9:23 p.m. on 27 Mile Road, east of Hayes in Ray Township. The driver of a 2002 Dodge PT Cruiser was traveling eastbound on 27 Mile Road when the vehicle struck the front of a farm combine that was stopped on 27 Mile Road, according to the Macomb County Sheriff. Kenneth Artman, 58, who served as the elected clerk of Ray Township, was standing next to the combine when the collision occurred and was struck by the combine on impact, according to the sheriff. Clinton Township Police report a 16-year-old Macomb Township teen hit and killed a 39-year-old Clinton Township bicyclist Tuesday night.
A 39-year-old Clinton Township bicyclist was hit and killed Tuesday night in the area of Garfield and 19 Mile roads, according to Clinton Township Police. The driver, a 16-year-old Macomb Township teen, did not see the bicyclist riding in the middle of the road in the dark, reports the Detroit Free Press. The accident occured shortly after 10 p.m., as both were travelling east on 19 Mile Road just west of Garfield Road, according to police. The cyclist was in the left lane of the two eastbound lanes when he was hit, the Free Press reports. The cyclist was taken to Henry Ford Hospital and pronounced dead at 10:28 p.m., according to Free Press reports. A 21-year-old Berville man died Friday from injuries sustained in a multiple car accident on North Avenue between 23 and 24 Mile roads. Jacob Dubaere was driving southbound on North Avenue with his twin brother, Joshua Dubaere, of Washington Township, when the 1989 Ford Ranger they were traveling in crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on with a 2003 Mazda minivan traveling north, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. A third vehicle, a 1993 Chevy S-10 pickup, also traveling north, rear-ended the minivan. No serious injuries were reported during a head-on collision at 23 Mile and Hayes roads Friday afternoon.
The Shelby Township police responded to a head-on crash on 23 Mile and Hayes roads Friday afternoon. The crash occurred just before 3 p.m., according to witnesses. The Shelby police told Patch the crash scene was cleared within 20 minutes and traffic has resumed at the intersection. No serious injuries were reported, and police have not said how many vehicles were involved in the crash. There is no word on how the crash happened.
