Who has the best “decked” house in Macomb Township? According to users who voted in our annual Deck the House contest, this home has the best holiday lights in Macomb Township? We had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our quest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in the country, we’ve seen everything from a life-size Santa to holiday lights so bright they could blind the neighbors. We loved showcasing everyone’s holiday spirit, but Deck the House isn’t over yet. We’re still looking for the one home so spectacularly decorated that it could be the national grand prize winner of our contest. We will choose 24 finalists from all our entries across the country. The Marasco home, located on 22 Mile near Romeo Plank, is lit up through early January for curious passer-bys.
There are 34,000 Christmas lights illuminating Dominic Marasco's home on 22 Mile Road. Lights adorn the roof of the house, his garage, shrubs and trees, his porch, and pretty much anything else that stands still. The words "God Said Let There Be Lights" and "Happy Birthday Jesus" blink off and on on his roof, while on the garage, a 6-foot peace sign and globe help spell out "Peace On Earth." He has so many outdoor lights that he had an electrician install extra outlets to accomodate the surge of power needed to illuminate his home. And his display keeps growing. We’re launching our annual Deck the House Contest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in America—the best “decked” house in the country—the one home so spectacularly decorated that everyone in town jokes your holiday decorations could rival Rockefeller Center’s. If this sounds like your house, upload a photo or video of your home to our contest page from Nov. 26 to Dec. 16 (We'll start accepting entries on Monday, Nov. 26). Only residents of Patch towns are eligible to enter. We’ll select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner.
