Spartan Hockey Invites Fans to Team Meet-and-Greet at Suburban Ice Macomb
The Michigan State University hockey team will host an open practice and autograph session Dec. 28 at Suburban Ice in Macomb Township.
Can't make it to East Lansing to see the Spartan icers in action? No matter, the team is bringing its green and white to Suburban Ice Macomb next week for a special meet-and-greet with area fans. The Michigan State hockey team will an open practice and autograph session from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Macomb Township ice arena. The event is free and fans will be given posters of the team to use during the autograph portion. The Spartans will take the ice at 2 p.m. and hold a one-hour practice, after which fans will be welcomed into the rink to meet the players and coaches. The Dakota and L'Anse Creuse North teams were among several across the state to participate in the East Lansing invitational.
Cross-country teams from Dakota and L'Anse Creuse North joined several dozen teams from across the state Friday to compete in the Michigan State University Spartan Invitational in East Lansing. The Dakota boys finished 12th out of 36 teams in the Green Division, while the Dakota girls took 23rd out of 41 teams also in the Green. "Thirteen of our 24 kids ran personal best times," said Dakota coach Mike Timpa. "The boys finished 12th as a team, which was great considering we lost our top three runners from last year. The girls also ran outstanding, with 10 of 15 runners establishing new personal best times." The L'Anse Creuse North boys both finished 12th out of 32 teams in the White Division.
