Sheriff's Deputies Make Marijuana Arrests

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office recently arrested two individuals on possession of marijuana charges. Deputies stopped a 17 year-old Macomb Township man on March 24 for having an expired registration tab on his license plate. According to a report, the deputy smelled marijuana and the driver admitted that there was marijuana in the console of the vehicle. The man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.    On March 25, deputies arrested a 20-year-old man in Macomb Township after he was stopped for speeding. A deputy smelled marijuana, and after a search, found three baggies of marijuana, according to a report. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Doug, it didn't say they were arrested for smoking pot. They were arrested for possession of marijuana, which, IS against the law. Regarding your comment about them not hurting anyone. There are plenty of articles out there about how people "under the influence" of pot as you called it, have and do hurt people. St. Patrick's Day Drunk Driving Arrest Statistics Released

Macomb Sheriff Anthony Wickersham released drinking and driving statistics from the St. Patrick's Day holiday. According to a release, there were seven people arrested for drinking and drivign related offenses over a 24-hour period during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.  “We will continue our efforts to reduce the number of alcohol related crashes on Macomb County Roads” says Sheriff Wickersham in a release. The arrests include: Clinton Township A 24-year-old Clinton Township man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, first offense, at 2:01 a.m. March 18. Macomb Township A 28-year-old man from Macomb Township was arrested at 12:30 a.m. March 18 for operating while intoxicated, first offense.   Shelby Township A 37-year-old man from …

I take issue with this ignorant statement "Alchohollism is self inflicted because of a weak will/weak mind and immaturity". FYI- Alcohol is a highly addictive drug that destroys the will and mind. With the will and logic to stop drinking gone, no amount of consequences, even the threat of madness and death will make an alcoholic stop. Multi-State Investigation Stretches to Macomb Township

A multi-state investigation that stretched from Ohio to Macomb Township ended with the arrest today of two men allegedly involved in a number of home invasions. Investigators in Macomb recently received a call from authorities in Huron County, Ohio, who were investigating "a rash" of home invasions, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office. Detectives in Ohio were able to develop information that the suspects were now in the Mount Clemens area. Working with detectives from Ohio, Macomb County officials located the suspects' vehicle Thursday in the parking lot of the Victory Inn in Mount Clemens, but the men had fled the hotel before the arrival of law enforcement personnel. Sheriff's Office Assists on Emergency Run for 1-Year-Old Child

Traffic was blocked Monday morning at Hall Road and North Avenue for the ambulance transport of a baby who was not breathing.

Deputies from the Macomb County Sheriff's Office assisted the Armada Fire Department on Monday with a transport of a 1-year-old baby who was not breathing. Sheriff's road patrol vehicles blocked number of intersections, including the corner of Hall Road and North Avenue in Macomb Township, to transport the baby to a hospital. Deputies also escorted the ambulance to the hospital. "All our dispatchers and our entire Road Patrol pitched in so that we could get the baby to the hospital and save it's life," Macomb Sheriff's Office Lt. John Michalke wrote in an email. "There is no call in the police business that garners a more passionate response by first responders than a 'child not breathing.'" Macomb Patch was informed about the emergency …

Sheriff's Office Investigates Residential Break-Ins

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a pair of residential breaking and entering robberies in Macomb Township. Detectives are investigating a robbery Feb. 25 in the 54000 block of Romeo Plank, and a second robbery Feb. 26 on Card Road. According to police reports, the homeowners were attending the funeral for another family member.  According to investigators, jewelry and cash were taken and a pillow case was used to carry items from the home in both robberies. Bus Safety Tips

School will be back in session soon and the Macomb County Sheriff's Office is sharing bus safety tips for students and drivers.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office reminds motorists and students about the following bus traffic safety rules: Tips for students: Tips for drivers: “The greatest risk for these children is not riding the bus, but when they are approaching or leaving the bus,” Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said in a release.
