Increased Home Building Hints at Recovery in Macomb Township Housing Market

The number of building permits issued in Macomb Township and the state of Michigan has increased over the past year.

Michigan’s residential building is nowhere near where it was at its 2004 peak, but in Macomb Township and across the state, the signs of recovery are unmistakable. Home building is picking up in Michigan, with nearly 7,800 permits issued as of September 2012 – a 32 percent increase over last year, according to the Home Builders Association of Michigan. In Macomb Township, the number of residential building permits issued increased from six in January to 25 just one month later, in February 2012.
