Presidential Inauguration 2013: Where, What and Who to Watch

Here's your guide to the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

The Presidential Inauguration takes place Monday, Jan. 21, in Washington, D.C. The week of festivities will include the Presidential Swearing-in Ceremony, Inaugural Address, Inaugural Parade and numerous inaugural balls and galas honoring President Barack Obama for his second term. The official theme for the 2013 inauguration is “Faith in America’s Future." Two Macomb County Sheriff's Mounted Division reserve deputies will be among those heading to the capitol for the big day, but for those of us who will just be watching from home, here's a look at what to expect. MCC, UAW-Ford Join Martin Luther King Day Volunteer Efforts for Macomb Habitat

Volunteers from Macomb Community College and UAW-Ford have partnered with Macomb County Habitat for Humanity to work on homes in Clinton Township, Eastpointe and Centerline in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

With volunteers from Macomb Community College and UAW-Ford, Macomb County Habitat for Humanity expects to add more than 60 pairs of hands to its building efforts this month in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr. Student volunteers from MCC will partner with Macomb County Habitat for Humanity for their third Martin Luther King Day, while UAW-Ford will kick-off its role as the first corporate partner to begin working on a Macomb Habitat project in 2013. Where the students will split their efforts Jan. 19 between deconstruction efforts in Eastpointe and Centerline, UAW-Ford volunteers will focus their work Jan. 16 on a home in Clinton Township. What's Closed in Macomb Township for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day?

The following schools and government institutions will be closed in observance of the MLK holiday.

To honor one of the nation's foremost Civil Rights leaders, the third Monday in January is observed as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, with numerous schools and government entities closing their doors to commemorate the man and his efforts toward achieving racial equality in the U.S. In Macomb Township, the following will be closed Monday, Jan. 16 in observance of this holiday: Also closed are Macomb County's government offices and courts. However, emergency services and 24/7 operations will continue.
