PTI Engineered Plastics is once again one of Michigan's "Top 100 Workplaces" based on employee surveys conducted on behalf of The Detroit Free Press.
Employee satisfaction has allowed a Macomb Township manufacturer to retain its status as one of Michigan's "Top 100 Workplaces", according to The Detroit Free Press. PTI Engineered Plastics, which specializes in tooling and injection molding, was honored as a “Top 100” company based on employee feedback in a survey recently conducted by Workplace Dynamics on behalf of The Detroit Free Press. The Macomb Township-based manufacturer plans to add 36,000 square feet to its current facility off 23 Mile Road and add more than 50 jobs in the next two years.
Business is booming for PTI Engineered Plastics, so much so that the Macomb Township-based manufacturer announced Friday that it plans to expand its facility and add more than 50 jobs in the next two years. The company, which serves the medical, defense, aerospace, transportation, electronics and consumer products industries, currently operates out of a facility at 50900 Corporate Dr., off 23 Mile Road. By the fall of 2012, PTI plans to expand its present facility to encompass 150,000 square feet, adding roughly 36,000 square feet. The Macomb Township-based PTI Engineered Plastics will add $5 million in equipment an 80 jobs in the next two years thanks to a recent tax abatement from the township.
PTI Engineered Plastics will be able to create another 80 jobs and make almost $5 million in building improvements and equipment additions now that Macomb Township has approved the company for a 12-year tax abatement. The Macomb Township board of trustees approved an industrial facilities exemption certificate, or tax abatement, for the Macomb-based company during its Wednesday meeting. This is the second abatement the township has granted PTI, which supplies the medical and automotive industries. With the first abatement, PTI was able to build its facility at 50900 Corporate Dr., off 23 Mile Road, in Macomb and hire 164 employees.
