Lutheran North's Pfund Earns All-American Honors
Macomb Community College cross country runner finished 13th at the national meet.
Three runners with Macomb Township ties helped the Macomb Community College women's cross country team finish seventh at the NJCAA national meet in South Carolina. Kayla Pfund, a graduate of Lutheran High North, placed 13th in the nation with a time of 18:44 in the 5K race. Pfund earned All-America status with her performance. Sarah Ball, a graduate of Dakota High School, and Ciara Poppe, a graduate of L'Anse Creuse High School North, also competed for MCC. MSU's center of attention Dakota graduate John Stipek started 12 games at center for Michigan State's football team this fall. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound senior anchored an offensive line that helped the Spartans rush for 168.8 yards per game. MSU went 11-1 in the regular season and …
